Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly.
Batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel, which can be recycled.
Batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with household waste, but you as the end user are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries.
After use, you can either send the batteries back to us with sufficient postage or return them free of charge in the immediate vicinity (e.g. in shops or at municipal collection points).

You will find collection points for waste portable batteries/rechargeable batteries wherever you can buy new portable batteries, e.g. in supermarkets or discounters:
Supermarkets or discounters,
department stores',
drugstore,
electrical shop or
DIY store
The collection boxes in shops are often located in the entrance or exit area or in the area of the packing tables, where other waste such as waste paper and packaging waste is also collected separately.
In addition, waste portable batteries can also be returned to local authority collection points, e.g. the hazardous waste mobile and public recycling centres.
Disposal at points of sale is limited to the usual quantities for end users and to waste batteries that the distributor has or has had in its range as new batteries.
The symbol with the crossed-out wheelie bin means that you must not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries in household waste. Below this symbol you will also find the following symbols with the following meanings:
Pb: Battery contains lead
Cd: Battery contains cadmium
Hg: Battery contains mercury
